Called to Serve

I promise I won’t post every day but I just have to say what a thrill it was tonight to sing  Called to Serve with 2063 missionaries. As I looked around the room I could visualize the stripling warriors in a way I never have before. I’m SO GRATEFUL to be here.  I have really seen the love of the Lord in my life. He’s real. He loves me. And He guides this work.

Ok.  We realize that it’s been ALMOST two weeks since we wrote.  Guess that means that we’ve been busy!  And that’s always a good thing on a mission!😁   On December 19th we had a special zone conference that was really AWESOME!  We love our mission leaders!  (Did you know that they have changed what they call the mission president and wife to mission leaders--that’s because the mission president’s wife is just as much a mission leader as her husband.)  Anyway, they planned a truly wonderful zone conference.  We had a beautiful live nativity with musical numbers and the scripture story.  It was wonderful--especially since I knew I would be missing the one we always had with our grandchildren.  And these missionaries have become “adopted” grandchildren to us.  We love them so much!  I can’t believe how much talent they all have.  There are so many musically talented missionaries.  I’m going to share a link to one ...

Well...today is October 5, 2019 so we have officially been on our mission for two months! Vermont is a wonderful place. It is listed as the least religious state in the nation but I don't know why? Everybody we talk to on the street seems to belong to some bunch. I continue to teach institute and Sister Swenson continues to cook for them every week. This last week she made spaghetti pie with salad and bread. It was a big hit and the Elders insisted on taking the left overs home. Mom seems to fit the role perfectly  as the absentee mother to the sisters and elders. She cooks for them on Thursdays and councils all of their "stuff" in between. I continue to do most of my "finding" on the golf course. Look at the picture of the celebrity that I played with this week!
