First Day at the MTC

We had a GREAT day today at the MTC.  The highlight was FHE where we watched a video of Elder Bednar speaking at the MTC on Christmas a few years ago about the character of Christ.  It was truly inspirational.  Christ's character is just the opposite of the natural man (us).  He is always focused outward toward others whereas the natural man (me included) is more selfish and centered on our own needs and desires.  He said that if we could always focus outward on others on our mission that we would truly find ourselves.  I think that's true of all of us no matter where we are in life.

Here are a few photos of the day.

Pulling out of the garage on our way to the MTC.

We found out that the famous "sign" out on the wall is no longer there.  😟  It caused too much congestion and traffic problems.  So here is the sign now.
And our selfie with nametags!

We were assigned a "couple" companion ytoday and we asked one of the sister missionaries to take a photo of us.  This is what she got! We thought it was hilarious!😂

And here we are with the Nielsens.  We hit it off so fast.  We know Sister Nielsen's brother (Steve Winn) and her best friend is Cherie Richin's sister.  We had so much in common.  They are going to be in Utica New York teaching institute.  We hope we can meet up out there some time.
