    That was so fun to see and I LOOOOOOOOVE where you live! That's just the kind of place Dave and I want to be. Out in the country with some space! It looks so dreamy, but I'm sure will have it's own challenges. Love you guys! Looks awesome!

    I enjoyed watching your video, and I can't wait to share it with the kids. It is beautiful! Just today, Emi told me that she misses grandma and grandpa. Then Isaac chimed in, "me too." :) Love you both!

Merry Christmas!!

Ok.  We realize that it’s been ALMOST two weeks since we wrote.  Guess that means that we’ve been busy!  And that’s always a good thing on a mission!😁   On December 19th we had a special zone conference that was really AWESOME!  We love our mission leaders!  (Did you know that they have changed what they call the mission president and wife to mission leaders--that’s because the mission president’s wife is just as much a mission leader as her husband.)  Anyway, they planned a truly wonderful zone conference.  We had a beautiful live nativity with musical numbers and the scripture story.  It was wonderful--especially since I knew I would be missing the one we always had with our grandchildren.  And these missionaries have become “adopted” grandchildren to us.  We love them so much!  I can’t believe how much talent they all have.  There are so many musically talented missionaries.  I’m going to share a link to one ...

We survived the MTC

I could barely reach that far north!  It makes me think it may be a little cold.  It was a great week, but I was really ready to be done.  So many of our friends had to stay for another week and were jealous we were leaving.  The picture below is mostly of strangers but the couple on the end by us are our best friends at the MTC--Elder and Sister Nielsen. This is our district.  L to R front: Sister Jeffries, Sister Carter, Sister Smith, and me.  Back: Sister Farnsworth (our morning instructor) Elder Carter, Elder Whitaker (his wife was sick) and Ken. And . . . We had a great day on Saturday. It started with the Salem Days Parade with all the kids inUtah and grandkids.  After the parade our sons gave us each a blessing which was a really special experience for us both.  We felt so much love from everyyone there.  Grandkids give the best hugs. Meetings, Meetings, and More Meetings!

  AND they were all wonderful!!  The meetings, that is.  It has been a really special weekend here in New England.  We have been blessed to have been a part of a wonderful regional conference.  It started on Friday for us.  The Young Adult branch was one of 4 wards that was invited to the Joseph Smith Birthplace memorial for a special meeting with President M Russell Ballard (acting president of the quorum of the twelve apostles) and Elder D Todd Christofferson (an apostle) along with the North America Northeast Area President Elder Randall K Bennett of the Seventy.  It was a small gathering in the chapel and we had GREAT seats.  In fact, we were lucky enough to be able to shake hands and speak with both of them and their wives as they were leaving the building.  Elder Christofferson commented on how rare and unusual it is to have two apostles at one time for a regional meeting, because they usually go with a companion from the Seventy....
