We're happy to be here!! Essex Junction Vermont is where we will be spending the next 18 months (we think). The missionaries invited us to attend a baptism today. It was a single sister named Kylie Hollingsworth. She learned about the church through the Pathways program. She has two rambunctious little boys. ๐ We've been invited to attend ward council in the morning where we will meet the people we'll be working with. The stake just received permission to create a YSA branch and we've been asked to take over the institute program, both teaching and feeding the young single adults in the Montpelier Stake. That will include about 20-25 attendees but that drops to 5-6 in the winter because of travel and school. Sounds like something we will love.

It doesn't look like too much from the outside but it's really great inside. Plentyy of room inside. A king size bed (which I'm happy about) and an extra bedroom that I didn't know we'd have. There isn't any furniture in it but it will work for a guest room. There are two desks, a couch, a recliner and a love seat. I'm using one of the desks for my sewing stuff. It works great. We also have a washer and dryer and the kitchen is pretty roomy. It's all more than I anticipated and we are very happy here!
The country here is so green and lush. The picture below shows our mailbox way out in the distance if you look really close. It's a bit of a walk!
On Thursday we stopped off in Hershey Pennsylvania. It is the cutest city I've ever seen and it does smell like chocolate. I had NO idea what a vacation spot this is--with a great amusement park, zoo and numerous other attractions for families.
We crossed this beautiful bridge going from New Jersey to New York. I don't know what it's called but it was beautiful.
On our journey we went through Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania (long) New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and most of Vermont! That was a LOT of driving.
I decided in honor of serving in Vermont (instead of Maine ๐) I would change my cover picture. This looks more like Vermont!
Yay! I'm so glad you guys made it and it's fun to see the little house you'll be living in! What an adventure you've already had so far. I can't wait to hear about your work with the YSA. Oh, and Mary wants to know how many hours total you were driving. :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Can't wait to see the video tour.
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited for you. And even more excited to come and stay in your new guest bedroom!
