Great Week! Tough Week! And spring is here!

I have not ONE single photo to post today.  So this blog post will be short.  It's been a week of highs and lows.  Luckily today was a "high" day.  Myra, who was baptized two weeks ago had a crazy spiral over the missionary transfers.  She didn't realize how attached she became to the Elder who taught her and he was transferred 4 days after her baptism.  I've spent the last two weeks trying to help her through it.  Myra has  BPD and has struggles in relationships. (Matt, thanks for the little tutoring you have given me in the past on this--maybe it wasn't an accident that I was here right now.)   She knows she struggles with relationships.  She has a hard time keeping friends.  So when it happens that a "friend" appears to abandon her it sends her into a deep hole.  It's been exhausting, frustrating and a lot of work.  I've spent hours messaging with her, taking her to dinner, and trying to help her through it all.  But with the help of one of the branch members, I got her to church this morning.  Last night she told me she wasn't going.  But this morning I had a message that she would go.  Anyway, we had the strangest thing happen.  Both of our speakers fell through at the last minute, so President Bosen had his first counselor and a recently returned missionary speak. They both gave the MOST amazing talks.  On the way home Myra told us that both of their talks were just what she needed to hear and she was so inspired and felt the spirit.  Is that a coincidence?  Don't think so.  God is in the details of  ALL of our lives and somehow He knew exactly what Myra needed to hear.  She had a great day at church, made some great friends and was so happy.   I am SO HAPPY.

Some other good news is that Ken had a bunch of fluid drained off his knee and got a cortizone shot and he is a new man😁.  I wish I could say the same about my shoulder.  It's worse.   I have an MRI on Tuesday.

We have two more baptisms coming up.  It's going to be a busy month.  We have a baptism next Sunday (with a lunch after) stake conference on the 21-22nd (with a lunch after.)  Then we have a baptism on the 29th (with a lunch after) and I will be really ready for two days of General Conference😂.

We are grateful to be here!  And spring is showing up!  AND, (yes you are hearing this right)  I'M SO HAPPY FOR DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!! We actually came home from church and its still light!  Hallelujah!!

Love you all!

  1. You must be the only one on earth who is happy about it! Haha!! Well, maybe not, but I'm certainly not a fan. When you have kids that catch a bus at 7am (or have early morning seminary!) it's brutal. But, it sounds like you guys are going great!! Yay for dad's knee and keep us posted on your shoulder. Love you guys!!
